Job Description:
The Consultant Web Mobile UX Designer/Developer is a recognized subject matter expert, leader, and mentor in the area of web and mobile UX standards, creative design, and technical development and implementation of UI markup. This position leads efforts to conceptualize, build, and manage enterprise-scale, best practice based UX design and technical development methodologies... standards, and frameworks. This position is responsible for working with internal teams to research and analyze web and mobile user tasks and interaction patterns; conceptualize, prototype, and design web and mobile user interfaces that help optimize the user experience; code user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and other standard technologies for web and mobile browsers; optimize designs and code for performance, accessibility, and multiple browsers; support and control the use of styles and branding; and support efficient and simple content authoring methods.
Job Essentials
• Provides expertise and working experience in enterprise-scale web and mobile usability principles, digital creative design best practices, and UI development methodologies.
• Gathers design requirements, defines objectives, and strategizes designs with development teams and stakeholders.
• Conceptualizes and creates engaging and highly usable designs for standard browser and mobile web pages, applications, and features.
• Demonstrates expert-level proficiency with designs tools (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, HTML, CSS, and other related tools and technologies). Incorporates web and mobile usability standards into all aspects of creative design.
• Advocates for best practices for creative design, usability, accessibility, code development, and coding standards.
• Documents and teaches principles for gathering requirements, defining UX objectives, developing design prototypes, conducting usability assessments, and presenting designs to customers and stakeholders.
• Produces best-practice based creative design that optimizes user experience, technical implementation, and supports branding and styling standards.
• Works collaboratively with other team members including product managers, business analysts, software developers, and management.
• Objectively listens and responds to customer and team feedback with a desire to continually enhance the user experience and team success.
• Manages multiple simultaneous large and small projects, tasks assignments, and deadlines.
• When applicable, mentors, helps supervise, and develops skills of Staff and Senior level UX Designer/Developers.
• Consistently and proactively researches new technologies, methods, usability, accessibility, and best practices to proactively develop solutions that enhance the user experience.
• Communicates effectively with team members and customers in person and through documentation to convey ideas, concepts, and rationale for designs and methods.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in digital media or web design. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Four years of equivalent professional experience working in digital media or web design.
- and -
Eight years of work experience as a UX designer and developer for web or mobile as described in the position purpose, including demonstrable experience developing creative design and writing HTML and CSS.

Two years of experience mentoring and teaching UX design and development principles in a team environment.
- and -
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating a high degree of organization and attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks, assignments, deadlines to produce results.

Demonstrated ability to quickly and efficiently develop design prototypes and final markup in HTML and CSS.
- and -
Experience designing and testing front-end code for page load speed and rendering performance.
- and -
Demonstrated experience researching, testing and implementing design-related best practices and coding methods for usability, accessibility, navigation design.
- and -
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating a high degree of organization and attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous projects, assignments and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction
Proficient in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Experience with front-end programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience in a healthcare environment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
