Position: Network Administrator Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Supervisor: VP, Information Technology Date: February 17, 2023

The Network Administrator’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.

The Senior Technical Support Engineer provides support for HoG employees’ software and hardware needs and serves as back up to the Vice President of Information Technology.

QUALIFICATIONS
• College degree
• IT Certifications, plus
• A minimum of four years’ experience as Administrator with Microsoft Windows operating system.
• Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, computer maintenance, PC operating systems and software support, network design, cabling, hardware selections and installation.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work without supervision, to use independent judgment, and to make appropriate decisions.
• Willing and able to teach and assist staff members with varying levels of computer skills.
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work productively, effectively, and efficiently with customers, clients, co-workers, volunteers, and management.

Essential Functions:
• Set up new users with equipment and software.
• Train all HoG users on software, both individually and in group training sessions.
• Troubleshoot communications hardware, software and configuration issues.
• Develop and maintain IT help desk ticketing system.
• Serve as back up to VP of Information Technology.
• Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide high level of support to users.

Essential Functions (continued):
• Lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
• Maintain, audit, and continuously improve security management for the computer systems and networks, including software, hardware, and telecommunications.
• Work with the VP of IT on implementation, training, and support of Salesforce.
• Coordinate the development of a comprehensive disaster recovery plan for the IT department, maintain the plan, and conduct periodic testing.
• Support HoG’s Cisco unified communications to configure and enhance the network and voice services.
• Keep current with the latest technologies. Maintain adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software.
• Coach and facilitate employees’ effective use of technology.
