Job Description

Would you like to work closely with industry specialists to coordinate and deliver environmental assessments and approvals on high profile, challenging projects across Perth?
In this role you will make a key contribution to Western Australia’s major infrastructure projects, including advancing next-generation transportation and renewable energy projects. You will play a critical role in navigating these projects through complex environmental assessment and approval pathways under Commonwealth, State and local planning frameworks. As part of the world’s leading infrastructure firm you will be ideally positioned to support our clients’ Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives and embed sustainable development and resilience outcomes within their projects.

AECOM’s Environment Business in Perth is growing to meet the demand of a strong pipeline of exciting projects including wind farms, transmission infrastructure, Defence Estate, resource projects, major rail and road upgrades and future fuel opportunities. The team has an opportunity for a professional environmental consultant to join our successful Impact Assessment & Permitting (IAP) Team.

You will join an energetic and enthusiastic team committed to delivering excellence in client-service on projects from a range of markets including Power/Renewables, Transport, Resources and Defence. You will utilise your science or environmental background to problem solve, provide technical insight and communicate with multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, drafters, project administrators and contractors, enabling you to further develop your skills working in a fast-paced, consulting environment. You will draw on your professional experience to make amazing happen!

As part of this opportunity, you will gain experience in project management, bid development and developing relationships with clients and stakeholders on a range of projects. As a highly motivated team player, you will support the continued growth of our business and foster the development of our environmental planning and approvals capability across the region.
About You

3-5 years’ industry experience, preferably working within a multidisciplinary team environment;

A team player able to work collaboratively across teams and projects;

Willingness to learn and develop skills as an emerging professional;

Attention to detail and well developed interpersonal skills;

Knowledge of Commonwealth and State planning and environmental legislation and frameworks;

Experience working across Renewables / Power / Transport / Defence / Resources markets – advantageous.


A relevant University Degree in Environmental Management/Science/Engineering (or similar) – essential.
