Medical Engineering and Maintenance Department to deliver high quality medical device maintenance repair and management services within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).

An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Team as Medical Engineer, providing medical device maintenance support throughout the Trust’s Hospital and Community sites. Our department is accredited to the ISO9001:2015 Quality Standard and is responsible for the management of all types of reusable medical device. You will be undertaking planned and on-demand maintenance of medical throughout the Trusts hospitals. Therefore a full UK driving license is desirable.

The varied and interesting work includes maintenance and... repair of equipment, keeping accurate records, and dealing with clients on a range of medical device management issues. You will be expected to be the face of MEAM when in contact with our clients, with knowledge of basic scientific and engineering principles along with awareness of Health and Safety legislation.

You will be mainly based at Whythenshawe Hospital but will need to be flexible as you will also be working at various Hospitals and Community Sites throughout Greater Manchester. You will need to have a logical and methodical approach to your work, work as part of a team or on our own initiative and have good interpersonal and communication skills.

It would be advantageous if you are experienced in the field of medical device engineering maintenance and have been exposed to a workshop environment. You must have practical engineering skills from electronic and/or mechanic discipline.
