An excellent opportunity has become available for a highly skilled and professional nursing leader to undertake the role of the Emergency Nurse Unit Manager Level 1 at a private hospital in Northern Sydney.

About The Role

As the NUM, you will provide quality, evidence-based patient care and operational direction for the emergency department (ED). You will bring expert clinical knowledge, innovative management skills and an ability to lead change in this dynamic specialty area.

The ED service delivery model focuses on a senior workforce (nursing & medical) at the frontline supporting the junior workforce with the education and clinical supervision. The team aims to provide timely and appropriate decision-making about patient care and ensure the junior workforce is supported in their learning within this dynamic environment. The ED has 50 beds including an11 bed Short Stay Unit, Adult Acute, Paediatrics, Resuscitation bays, Fast Track cubicles and mental health safe assessment... rooms.

Requirements
• Current registration with the AHPRA;
• A minimum of 6 years of Emergency Nursing experience;
• Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent;
• Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing;
• Postgraduate qualification in leadership or management (or working towards same);
• Demonstrated recent experience in a management role within the ED;
• Advanced clinical skills and competence Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams with a service excellence approach;
• High degree of computer literacy;
• Passion for delivering quality patient-centred care.

The hospital offers flexibility with shift allocations and the commitment to work a rotating roster. There are offered 12hr and 8hr shifts and a state-of-art working environment utilising EMR (electronic medical records) and MEDCHART (medication management/administration) systems.

REMUNERATION

Salary ranges between $62.46 - $67.18 per hour, based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience.

The hospital, located in beautiful Frenchs Forest, provides high-quality services for public and private patients in the Northern Beaches community. The hospital has a state-of-the-art Interventional suite encompassing three laboratories, including hybrid and biplane labs.
