Job Description
Join our team on MTMS as an Environmental Manager and take on the challenge of ensuring project compliance with environmental regulations, contractual obligations, and John Holland Environmental procedures. Here are some key accountabilities and qualifications that come with this exciting opportunity:
Key Accountabilities
• Coordinate and provide specialized environmental support to internal stakeholders, including Group and Regional Environment teams
• Identify and manage environmental risks effectively to ensure we maintain compliance
• Develop, manage, and lead continual technical improvements of the project environment management systems to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Liaise with government bodies and professional organizations on environmental matters, keeping the project up-to-date with the latest environmental standards and regulations.
• Establish, monitor and report on key environmental performance objectives and standards to mitigate project... environmental risks, ensuring a sustainable future.
• Maintain and improve project inspection, auditing, and review processes to keep the project aligned with environmental goals and objectives.
• Communicate environmental roles and responsibilities, review project team environmental competencies and identify training and development needs to promote a culture of sustainability and progress.
• Manage environmental budget allocation efficiently to ensure cost-effective environmental management practices.
• Work with environmental consultants to ensure accurate environmental field monitoring information.
• Keep up-to-date with all relevant legal, regulatory, and company environmental requirements, and ensure management and staff are informed of any relevant changes to project requirements.
• Provide staff with training on environment matters such as spill response, legal, and other requirements to keep them well-informed and prepared.

Key Requirements
With your Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines, along with 5+ years of experience in construction environment management and knowledge of relevant environmental statutes and legislation, you are the ideal candidate for this position. Your training and facilitation experience in high-risk environmental activities such as spill response and heritage compliance, as well as your skill in quantitative and qualitative environmental risk assessment, make you the perfect fit for this role. Being an Infrastructure Accredited Professional (ISAP) in accordance with the ISC rating scheme would be highly desirable
