Little Minds Matter: Bradford Infant Mental Health Service

Band 6, fixed term for 12 months

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development and delivery of a specialist team supporting families experiencing difficulties with the parent-infant relationship.

The Little Minds Matter: Bradford Infant Mental Health Service have recently secured additional funding through Start for Life. This increased funding enables us to expand both the number of clinicians in our team and also the reach of our service to be city and districtwide. We are delivered by Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Family Action.

This post would suit a midwife with who is enthusiastic about promoting infant mental health antenatally. The post holder will have good knowledge of infant development and parent-infant relationship difficulties. The post holder will support the Little Minds Matter Specialist Midwife in working with maternity... services to provide infant mental health training and consultation. The post holder will also work directly with families who are pregnant and / or have an infant.
• To work within a multi-disciplinary pathway delivering effective mental health care to mothers, fathers, carers and their infants from conception until a baby’s second birthday
• To support a caseload of individuals and families experiencing attachment, bonding, or parent-infant relationship issues across the Bradford District (due to service expansion)
• To support the adherence to relevant national guidance and best practice on parent-infant relationships and Infant Mental Health
• To support the specialist midwife in the development of infant mental health approaches within maternity services
• To support specialist training, consultation and supervision to the wider health visiting and early years workforce to promote infant mental health.
• To encourage the application of relevant national guidance and best practice antenatal care within an infant mental health service.
• To support community engagement activities across Bradford City.
• To contribute to the service’s ongoing development, including evaluation, research, development activities and development of links with other key early years agencies.
