Description
• Reports to the Operation Manager and Group Operation Director of any significant changes in mental status or physical condition of residents
• Lead and manage standards of clinical practice by ensuring all PCAs (Personal Care Assistant) demonstrate excellence in providing holistic care requirements of patient’s needs
• Lead the implementation of patient assessments and documentation in accordance to regulatory requirements
• Lead and uphold residents and family rights in relation to safety, privacy & confidentiality
• Provide safe environment through efficient implementation of appropriate standard precaution practice in accordance to patient’s needs
• Provide... leadership and serving as a resource in the provision of patient care
• Priorities, organize and manage own and team’s workload to maintain and promoting leadership and managerial quality
• Job shadow the PCA in order ensure excellent networking tool and can facilitate the breaking down of internal barriers across the organization
• Act as a resource person, direct and supervise less skilled PCAs to deliver resident care at expected competency, knowledge and skills set to support the operations and administration
• Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
• Undertake service development and strategic leadership to enhance resident experience, application of values in practice
• Effective managing and resolving resident’s complaint in a timely manner according to established complaint management process and methodology
• Manage and resolve residents and resident’s family complaint in a timely manner according to established complaint management process
• Act as role model to provide excellence clinical knowledge and practice / holistic care for the residents
• Secure individual resident’s privacy and confidentiality
• Promote safe care and uphold residents and family rights in relation to safety, privacy and confidentiality
• Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
• Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching and counseling patient, friends, and family and reinforcing their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods
• Optimize PCA’s productivity (work-load –resident acuity/dependency, staff absence etc) to meet operational requirements within the parameters of staffing targets, providing monthly roster for the PCAs
• Provides significant trainings and exercises for the enhancement of PCAs skills in terms of providing quality health care
• Documents resident care in accordance with facility and authority guidelines
• Assists residents with Medication Management
• Responsible for stocking all resident room and kitchen with essential supplies and notes when supplies are running low.
• Responsible for answering the telephone with the highest level of professionalism and properly relay messages and information to the center manager
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from other health care professionals
•The assigned overnight Resident Care Specialist position is an awake position and it is expected that this individual is awake at all times during their shift
• Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Degree and minimum five (5) years related working experience in Hospital environment
• Must have APC (Annual Practicing Certificate) and compulsory to be renewed yearly and registered with Malaysian Nursing Board
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Ability to handle confidential information and material with the highest degree of professional responsibility
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Physically fit
• Self-disciplined, proactive and have a strong sense of urgency
• Maintain a positive, friendly demeanor at all times
