Job Description

The Role of an Account Planner-Consumer Marketing

The Account Planner is the strategic architect of our campaigns and evergreen platforms. The Comms Planner sits at the intersection of ideas and media, partnering closely with the Brand Planner, Creative Director and media agency to ensure a comms idea is properly integrated across the channels that best meet a brand’s communications tasks. This role calls for a strategist with a creative heart and an analytical mind who can contextualize an idea within the appropriate channels and ultimately ensure that creative execution and media all work in perfect harmony. 

The position reports to the President

Specific responsibilities include:

Lead day-to-day comms planning for high-profile dynamic accounts; play a key role in building trusted relationships with clients alongside other HLS teammates

Understand and track consumer journey and devise strategies to map and identify ‘moments of truth’ and use it further for... devising communication strategy

Design and conduct consumer research to arrive at actionable consumer insights

Lead pitches

Develop pitch decks coordinating with different teams

Derive appropriate communications propositions and brain storm with creative team

Work closely with client servicing team and Creative leads to ensure our creative ideas make most effective use of integrated mix of owned, earned and paid channels, and are deployed via innovative, targeted media and technology

Partner closely with the clients’ owned channel teams to ensure that the communication idea is adopted and executed seamlessly throughout social, PR, and .com properties

Partner closely with media agency partners on key accounts to ensure that our ideas are deployed through the proper mix of paid/owned/earned channels

Determine the communications tasks for each campaign and write task briefs that guide messaging and execution tailored for each channel

Create measurable campaign KPI’s, helping to enhance creative effectiveness and improve sell rate of innovative ideas

Read and analyze campaign metrics and leverage insights from data to improve comms effectiveness

Responsible for demonstrating an understanding of consumer behaviors; and a working knowledge of media relevant to the client’s business including TV, digital, social, experiential, print, OOH, and search

Showcase an understanding of digital, social and emerging platforms and technologies

Occasionally participate in new business pitches

Qualifications/Requirements

8-10 years Experience in working with advertising account planning

Experience in account planning, media planning, digital strategy or a social planning role; expertise in developing digital, social and experiential marketing plans

Experience in conducting brand communication workshops with clients

Experienced in integrated advertising campaigns across multiple media channels and the ability to demonstrate its impact on the brand

Superior professionalism with clients and internal team

Some experience analyzing campaign performance and an understanding of the role analytics plays in selling and measuring ideas.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-written documents and eloquently present

Well organized and detail oriented

Ambitious personality who is open to helping with any task

Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
