About the role
The New Zealand Police has a permanent position available for a Liaison and Compliance Officer based within the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in Wellington. Further information about the role of the FIU can be found online at As the Liaison and Compliance Officer you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance within the Financial... Intelligence framework. The ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders is critical to this position. You will also be responsible for assisting with the coordination and delivery of training programmes to our growing list of reporting entities.
Key Accountabilities:
• Monitor and report on financial institutions’ implementation and adherence to AML/CFT legislations, regulations and international obligations
• Report on compliance measures, ensuring FIU frameworks and applicable legislation is adhered to
• Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships, both internal and external to Police
• Assist with the coordination and delivery of training programmes
• Identify compliance issues and develop remediation strategies

• Working knowledge of AML/CFT legislation
