Job Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities includes but not limited to the following:
• Consults on system architectures, assess technical requirements and competencies needed during quoting and oversee design progressions during product developments.
• Obtains and categorizes information from equivalent products on potential use failure modes of product.
• Provides technical inputs to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules.
• Conduct product feasibility studies, define system architectures and solutions, and create execution plan for new product development.
• Analyze product features requirements, dimension and weight, performance and cost to determine project feasibility.
• Analyze the interrelationships between models, functional priorities, implementation, and environmental implications of system requirements.
• Recommend repair or design modifications of electronics components or systems, based on factors such as... environment, service, cost, or system capabilities.
• Develop or perform operational, maintenance, or testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment, or systems.
• Prepare documentation containing information such as confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or product development such schedules, BOM, product costs, etc.
• Prepare necessary criteria, protocols, reports, or plans for successful conduct of the project with consideration given to quality assurance.
• Prepare DFMEA, Risk Analysis reports.
• Guides and oversees the development of system component requirements, interfaces, and specifications necessary to maintain the consistency and integrity of the architectures.
• Define system boundaries, including how the system interacts with both inputs and outputs to user, equipment or other system.
• Develops test scenarios for key performance requirements of product in collaboration with senior development staff and use knowledge gained to iterate system specifications with necessary detail to assure robust product performance.
• Work with other design engineers and manufacturing team to resolve design issues and to support production problems.
• Coordinates all system level activities with the Project Managers, Mechanical, Software, and Electrical Engineers within the design group.
• Works with the senior regulatory and quality staff to determine the applicable international safety and regulatory constraints for the product to ensure timely incorporation of these constraints into the system requirements.
• Participants in the development of production test equipment
• Light to moderate travel to company, customer and other facilities. May be international.

Job Requirements
• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in electronics product development is preferred.
• Quick study with ability to come up to speed on current projects quickly.
• Must have working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines.
• Design experience and knowledge in any of the following will have added advantages:
• Real-time embedded systems, high speed digital and mixed-signal platforms designs.
• SoC/Processors/Controllers, DDR3/DDR4 DRAM, NAND/NOR Flash, SATA, SAS, USB, PCIe, GbE technologies.
• Wireless design and validation such as WiFi, BT and LTE.
• Medical equipment design.
• Proven track record of success in electronic product system design.
• Experience using CAD tools (e.g. Cadence Allegro, Mentor PAD or Altium).
• Familiar with ISO9001 or ISO13485 processes.
• Experience in ESD, EMI/EMC and regulatory test and solutions.
• Must be able to manage and resolve conflicting product and project requirements.
• Must be able to interface effectively with a team of Software, Mechanical and Test & Quality engineers/managers to define & confirm the product requirements.
• Ability to interface effectively with customers, subordinates, peers and vendors.
• Requires some knowledge of products, technologies, and customer markets.
• Must be able to operate with minimal supervision in a manner consistent with divisional and corporate goals.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
