We are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer for Micro and Machinery Drives at ABB Oy, Drive Products Division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. In this position, you will utilize your extensive skills and technical expertise in a variety of design projects.

Your responsibilities
• Designing, dimensioning and verification of main circuit and power electronic components and circuits of variable speed drives.
• Interfacing the power electronics with microcontroller systems and building complete functional drives together with the team.
• Participating in system design of drive projects, as well as system level verification and production ramp-up.
• Supporting the life cycle management of the existing products

Your background
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering.
• Competence in designing electronic systems and components, such as PCBA design, power electronic component dimensioning, microcontroller systems and analog electronics.
• Preferably system design of electronic and power electronic parts of variable speed drives or equal technology (e.g., UPS or welding devices).
• Fluency in written and spoken English. Finnish language skills would be beneficial.
• Experience of similar tasks is considered an asset. Ideally, you have the ability and experience in managing your own and others' work.
• We expect you to have 5+ years’ experience of engineering. If your experience is already in the senior level your career starts at ABB in the senior position as well.
• Knowledge of ABB frequency converters – especially main circuits – is beneficial.
