We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer - Tire Warranty Data Analysis to join our team in White, Georgia. SUMMARY

Based at our White, Georgia Technical Quality Center and reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical & Quality, the Quality Assurance Engineer - Tire Warranty Data Analysis is responsible for the development and maintenance of analytical tools to monitor and visualize Toyo Tire’s warranty data. Advanced data mining and visualization techniques will be employed to provide world-class analysis of tire warranty data trends. In addition to data analysis tasks, the Quality Assurance Engineer - Tire Warranty Data Analysis is also responsible for leading cross-functional teams with forensic analysis, manufacturing process root-cause analysis, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement activities within the department, using automotive industry standard quality tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Data Analysis Tool Development
• Utilize advanced analysis (machine learning, AI, etc.) and visualization tools to maximize data value to key stakeholders.
• Develop data mining algorithms.
• Automate data visualization tools.

Trend Analysis
• Prepare and deliver presentations on warranty claim trends and provide Engineering context to warranty claims data in cross-functional team meetings.
• Lead in the identification and prioritization of key opportunities for continuous improvement, and lead cross-functional teams to implement these improvements.
• Use Engineering perspective and knowledge of statistics to analyze data from multiple sources.
• Develop predictive modeling tools to forecast field response to new products.

Forensic Tire Analysis and Quality Responses
• Assist with forensic analysis of warranty return tires.
• Lead cross-functional teams in determining root-causes using industry standard quality tools (8D, 3L5W, etc.)

US Tire Industry Associations
• Participate in industry committees and sub-committees as needed.

Product Regulatory Compliance
• Assist in NHTSA reporting – Early warning reports (EWR), etc.
• Assist with the management of Product Recalls
• Utilize tire return and tracking protocols to provide management updates and meet regulatory reporting requirements.
• Prepare and submit the quarterly reports to NHTSA
• Ensure new products meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all proposed product fitments meet company standards.

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in the tire or automotive industry as a Quality Engineer is desirable.
• A passion for the performance automotive market is desirable.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year institution in Engineering, Data Analytics, or Mathematics.
• Ideal candidate will have five to ten (5-10) years of related work experience.
• Tire industry experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with standard automotive quality systems (IATF 16949, etc.) is required.

ENGINEERING SOFTWARE SKILLS
• Capable of tackling complex data analysis projects with minimal supervision using appropriate tools.
• Mastery of MATLAB (or similar tools) for analysis, visualization, and prediction of data required.
• Solid Engineering understanding of the application of statistics in data analysis (MATLAB, Minitab, etc.) required.
• Working knowledge of database management (SQL, Cognos, or similar) desired.
• Working knowledge of Business intelligence software (Tableau or similar) desired.
