We are in an exciting period of new opportunities in Vancouver. We want to strengthen our pool of V.I.Es and we are seeking a Project Engineer who want to work within our Eurovia subsidiary: BA Blacktop Ltd. based in Lower Mainland !

The V.I.E. will mainly intervene on stimulating roads infrastructure projects as BA Blacktop performs road widening, road rehabilitation, utility replacement, sidewalk and curb and gutter construction, retaining walls and related works.

As part of BA Blacktop's team, the V.I.E. will play a key role in supervising a specific worksite area and will have the opportunity to learn from the best in the industry, while working in a supportive environment :)

The main missions of the V.I.E. are as such:

Managing schedules and coordinating subcontractors on the assigned perimeter (conducting and administering overall job planning and programming);

Defining and ensuring the supply of material needs of the perimeter;

Monitoring construction progress and... ensuring the smooth running of the work;

Participating in the financial management of the project;

Monitoring daily costs of all time-dependent elements on the project and implications;

Undertaking cost controlling and estimating as required;

Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and requirements related to Quality Assurance, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environment.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

A recognized qualification (Bachelor/master’s degree) in engineering and/or construction

First working experience for a major contractor in civil construction and infrastructure

Fluent English

Strong interpersonal skills, open-mindedness, and curiosity - as you'll be working closely with construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers and more

Excellent time management - working to ensure packages of work are completed on time and according to program

A demonstrable commitment to Health & Safety ensuring everyone goes home safe every day

An international mindset: a previous international experience would be appreciated

A driver licence

To enter the V.I.E. program, you have to be:

A European citizen between 18 and 28 years old

A graduate student, with a fluent level in English

Have never done any V.I.E. in the past

Do not have worked previously in Canada
