Job Description
JOB SUMMARY...
The Software Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer plans and executes design verification and validation to verify device design requirements. The V&V Engineer develops and validates test methods and protocols based on defined requirements and provides clear concise test reports.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Develop, review and execute validation and verification protocols to ensure that product requirements and user needs have been met in accordance with QA/RA established processes.
• Develop and qualify new test protocols, ensuring that test objectives are effectively incorporated.
• Interact collaboratively with a wide range of disciplines to create and update use case documentation to aid in software design.
• Perform traceability analysis of test protocol to requirements
• Review results of executed protocols, write summary reports and provide conclusions.
• Develop or provide work estimates based on analysis of effort needed to satisfy requirements.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Work within cross-functional teams to complete project/product objectives.
• Review and provide feedback on Verification and Validation plans.
• Create and update software documentation (specifications, design documentation, etc.) as required.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
• Knowledge of testing methods (integration, Verification, Validation, acceptance) within the development life cycle.
• Adhere to software engineering policies & procedures.
• Apply principles and techniques of software engineering. Recommend improvements to software procedures.
• Recommend selection, approval, and acquisition of hardware, software, networking components, and services.
• Provide mentoring to co-ops and interns.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field required and 2-5 years years of experience in a related field preferred.

• Ability to work with vague requirements and limited direct supervision
• Knowledgeable of the fundamental theory and the practical application of engineering science and technology.
• Ability to apply principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of medical devices and services.
• Experience with Microsoft programming languages (C#, C++, .NET).
• Experience developing network-based applications.
• Experience with database development including, but not limited to, SQL Server, MySQL, and SQLLite.
• Understands Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices.
