Responsibilities

Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions

Design client-side and server-side architecture

Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design

Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications

Write effective APIs

Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency

Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software

Create security and data protection settings

Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design

Write technical documentation

Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software

Requirements

Eight (8) - Ten (10) years of Software Development experience

Expert-level Java development is a requirement

Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)

Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)

Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design

Must have breadth and depth of knowledge, having experience working in a variety of different roles

Must have Infrastructure experience to understand concepts such as VPN, Networks, Security, Monitoring, and Systems Management

Create highly available and scalable infrastructure in AWS cloud by using various AWS services

Proficient in both front-end and back-end languages and frameworks, as well as in server, network and hosting environments

Must be well-versed in both business logic and user experience, meaning you are not only well-equipped to get hands-on but can also guide and consult on strategy too

Knowledge of CI/CIT/CID integration

Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a relevant field

AWS Certified Developer – Associate - Preferred

Current and relevant experience on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services projects is REQUIRED

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client

Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience on systems with complex requirements

Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives

Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus

THIS POSITION REQUIRES RESIDENCY IN MARYLAND OR NORTHERN VIRGINIA and is PARTIAL REMOTE 2 DAYS A WEEK. THIS POSITION IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A FULL REMOTE SCHEDULE.
