The role

As a... Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) / Gas Trial Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working closely with the Site Manager, Site based Commissioning Team and shipyard's operations team, the Commissioning Engineer / Gas Trial Engineer provides commissioning and start-up support for the Cargo Handling Plant equipment for LPG and LNG carriers during the final building phase in the shipyard and as required through on board attendance during gas trials, in service and dry-docking contracts.

Day to day, you'll report directly to the Head of Projects (Rosyth, Scotland UK). The role is mainly South Korea based in close proximity of the shipyard, however this position require frequent travel when attending gas trials, vessel's first voyage, etc. Support First Loading/First Discharge/Voyages as required. You'll perform Warranty and After Sales activities as directed by Head Office, including visits onboard ships to identify and where possible rectify problems, then giving feedback to Head Office. You'll organise locally and participate in the crew training activities with Owners and Yard personnel.

Essential experience
• Hands-on technical competence - ideally have sailed with experience working on ship (refrigeration or LPG & LNG cargo related) machinery
• Clear and confident communicator.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Great attention to detail.
• IT capable.
• Able to work alone or as part of a multi-discipline team.

Business Level in the English language (verbal & written).
