Working closely with the Development Team the GIS Senior Analyst shall deliver mapping support for GIS projects to continue to help develop RWE’s Renewable Energy projects in Australia, covering wind, solar and storage (or a hybrid combination thereof). The GIS Senior Analyst shall coordinate and produce GIS datum and mapping output for multiple projects, web map solutions, and mobile applications, demonstrating a skilled knowledge of GIS software and technology, data acquisition and storage, spatial analysis, and cartographic deliverables.
This is a key role in driving the onshore wind, solar and storage growth strategy for RWE Renewables Australia. You should have the ability to work with the team to drive a number of projects from concept through to FID. The role sits as part of the RWE Renewables Development team in Australia, where we have an ever-growing pipeline of projects under development.
Your key responsibilities:
• Create maps and data visualization products using GIS... or related software to support renewable energy project development, engineering, and construction;
• Performing data analysis using GIS and related extensions/add-ons, relational databases, and other computer software;
• Maintaining GIS databases for individual projects in an organized manner and according to current data standards and industry methods, and geospatial best practice.
• Check external maps and drawings produced by other members of the Development Team were required.
• Provide training to other members of the Development Team on GIS functionality as required.
• Assisting with the creation of documents and presentations to convey development recommendations, division/departmental communication initiatives, and GIS-related technical/business documentation.
• Developing and maintaining GIS files and associated spatial and tabular databases, including but not limited to cadastral, streets, environmental, natural resources, topographic, aerial imagery and other spatial features on local and online servers.
• Gathering GIS data from various public or private entities as it relates to development and advanced project areas and ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data.
• Communicating with managers of any data issues or questions with data accuracy and completeness.
• Working in a team setting with other departments (engineering, construction, operations etc) to assist in support of their assessments as it pertains to development activities.
• Provide technical assessments of development projects;

YOUR Experience and Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in GIS (preferably with some experience in the renewable energy sector)
• Interest in the development of wind, solar and battery projects
• Tertiary qualifications in Geographical Information Systems, Surveying, Spatial Sciences, Cartography or related degree
• Proficient in the use of GIS and surveying software
• Proficient in digital processing and manipulation of survey data, LiDAR data, UAV data and preparation and presentation of CAD drawings
• Knowledge and understanding of development and construction methodologies for renewables energy projects
• Ability to work in a team environment managing conflicting deadlines and priorities;
• Demonstrated experience maintaining large GIS dataset/databases;
• Coding/Scripting capability (Python etc) to encourage automation where practical to do so
• Ability to work proactively both autonomously and within a team
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required
• Ability to work cooperatively in cross-cultural teams, collaborating across country boundaries with a sense for diversity and inclusion
