The role involves working on studies, tenders and projects in a variety of EPCI and/or Transport & Installation Contracts for topics related to installation analyses for power cables, umbilicals, flexible lines, mooring lines and associated offshore structures. It may include some design specifications and follow up of specific suppliers.

The Engineer will also contribute to the development of the discipline through various work on Technology development... and / or continuous improvements.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

The Engineer will be working under the follow up of the Discipline Lead or a Senior Engineer within the discipline.

The main responsibilities will be as follow:
• Produce and check design documentations including feasibility reports, detailed in place design reports, specifications, material take-offs, etc.
• Perform installation analysis with OrcaFlex, as per design brief and basis.
• Check others, analyses, design and engineering activities associated.
• Ensure design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g., API 17J, DNVGL Guidelines, API RP 2STD, 2RD); Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
• Interface with project engineering teams (operations, installation, drawing office)
• Understand Client needs to develop specification for Suppliers.
• Support the selection of the Supplier through technical evaluation
• Be aware of the overall project planning and responsible of the planning of his / her Scope of Work.
• Provide engineering assistance during mobilizations and occasional periods of offshore or site working, including FATs, SITs, Pre-commissioning, etc.
• Ensure that know-how is transferred within the discipline. Attend to discipline meeting as required.
• Proposes innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction

Capability profile – Knowledge, skills, experience
• MSc. or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering/hydrodynamics, with relevant work experience in the oil and gas industry or offshore renewables, with knowledge of riser systems analysis (rigid, flexible or umbilical).
• Proficient in FEA modelling and you know well OrcaFlex (or similar) software.
• Very good knowledge of written and spoken English.

Personal Attributes:
• Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to Drafting Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions.
• Interest for analyses work
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work
• Experience in working in a multi-disciplined system engineering team
• Ability to prioritize own workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
• Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints
• Demonstrate commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
• Demonstrate commitment to HSE and Quality;
• Shall be self-motivated and have well developed interpersonal skills.
• Ability in working in multicultural group
• Ability to travel to onshore and offshore sites.
