Task

As a Daffodil Day Community Organiser you will be tasked with:
• Identifying and recruiting local volunteers to help in the delivery of Daffodil Day. Volunteers could include family, friends, local students or members of your local clubs. The Irish Cancer Society can also help with volunteer recruitment in the lead up to Daffodil Day.
• Organising a volunteer roster for the day indenting times and locations that need to be filled.
• Identifying and suggesting possible high foot fall locations within your local area in which to set up Daffodil Day activities.
• Ordering and storing (short term) of Daffodil Day stock.
• Distribution of Daffodil Day stock to volunteer locations on Daffodil Day.
• Supervising your local activities on Daffodil Day (24 March 2023) and supporting your volunteers as is needed.
• Collecting, counting and lodging all funds raised throughout the day at your local AIB or post office.

About Us

The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity dedicated to... preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer through patient care, research and education. The main work of the Society is the delivery of nursing services to patients with cancer throughout Ireland, including funding hospital based Oncology Liaison Nurses, community based Night Nursing for patients in their home, and Home Care Nursing teams. The Society also operates a FreeFone Cancer Helpline, staffed by fully qualified nurses, and is the largest single voluntary supporter of cancer research in Ireland.

• Full clean driving licence would be beneficial but not essential
