We currently require a Food and Beverage Manager to join the team in Lough Rea Hotel and Spa

The Hotel: The four-star Lough Rea Hotel & Spa is a member of the Só Hotel group, comprising of 91 guest bedrooms that also boasts one of County Galway finest function rooms. Additional outlets include excellent Bar and Restaurant facilities that produces some of the finest dining experiences in the west of Ireland, our luxurious Shore Island Spa and magnificent Roof Top Garden with its own cocktail bar overlooking Loughrea Lake and the Galway countryside.

Job Title: Food and Beverage Manager

Main Purpose of the Job: Responsible for managing all aspects of the Food & Beverage Department, including operational issues ensuring that all areas of the Food & Beverage Department meet the four-star Hotel standards of quality and service, and to work with the Senior Management team to optimize profits and increase sales and promote new and diverse business.

Main Duties:

Deliver Quality: In... conjunction with the appointed managers, to establish and implement standards of performance within the food & beverage areas of the hotel restaurant, bar and conference & banqueting areas. Ensuring that all services offered are of the highest 4* standards of quality and all employees are trained in the delivery of same.

Productivity: To install and follow efficient and effective work methods and systems and to identify and agree schedules which will facilitate the achievement of high levels of staff productivity. To review staff rota's, ensuring that they provide adequate cover in the most cost-effective manner.

Cost Control: To accept ownership and control of department budgets and costs, working with Management in reducing operating costs and to increase average spends and improve yield management with the division.

Forward Planning: To ensure that systems for reporting future business is followed in a timely and efficient manner. To be involved in the promotion of the hotel from concept stage to increase business awareness and overall exposure to the company's goals and objectives.

Financial Reporting: To ensure that all cash handling procedures within the F&B department are comprehensive and practical in their operation, thus reducing errors, shortages and the potential for theft. To compile weekly/monthly financial reports, giving details of revenue, covers and staff productivity in each of the departments. To involve other relevant managers when appropriate to outline any issues that may have affected the F&B operation both positive and negative.

Supervision: To perform Duty Management shifts diligently and without compromise as a result of any extra duties assigned. To work with the Department Managers in the control and organization of all staff within the F&B areas ensuring that required operational standards are achieved and maintained. To ensure the development and training of staff in new system methods and procedures that may be introduced into F&B areas from time to time.

Marketing: Working with our Sales & Marketing Manager to prepare a sales plan for the F&B outlets, with a particular emphasis on the local market.

Hygiene: To practice high standards of personal hygiene at all times in terms of grooming and wearing of proper attire. To maintain the required standards of operational hygiene.

The ideal candidate for this position:
• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role and demonstrated business/industry awareness.
• Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service.
• Must be standards driven and detail orientated, with the desire to progress within the luxury market.
• Must have the ability to lead, multi-task and make sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
• Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance.
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
