Duties & Responsibilities
As an Assistant Brand Manager you will be responsible for the following:
• Developing the long term initiatives and annual marketing plan for all concepts.
• Developing and executing marketing programs and initiatives, from start to finish, including:
• Assessing the business need - including formulating a business case and financial rationale, where required.
• Developing the project and communication brief, and delivering it to our agency partners.
• Assessing the proposed ideas, and determining the best one(s) with which to move forward.
• Gaining the alignment of key internal stakeholders.
• Working with key partners (creative and media agencies, printers) and with the internal team to implement and execute the resulting tactics and initiatives. Ensuring stores are set up for effective execution of LSM (local store marketing) activities, and coaching and coordinating where necessary.
• Conducting a post-mortem on each project.
• Analyzing market and consumer research and developing recommendations for new initiatives and promotions - and alternative ways to reach the key target market.
• Initiating research to gain better insight into our guests, with the end goal of delivering the most relevant and compelling solutions possible, to surprise, delight and engage them.
• Leading the planning and execution of point of sale and marketing materials to support promotions and LSM initiatives.
• Liaising with suppliers of marketing materials, ensuring timely delivery to stores and/or distributors.
• Responding and acting in a timely fashion on marketing issues received from cross functional teams and the stores, themselves.
• Proactively looking for opportunities to a) build awareness b) drive trial, c) frequency of current guest, d) profitability of current visit or e) cost savings.
• Managing the Marketing calendar and the budget for the business.
• Managing the Menu Engineering process.
• Ensuring that all programming, branding and materials seen by our guests are consistent with brand positioning.
Qualifications
• 2-3 years of experience in Marketing and/or Advertising, in retail or packaged goods.
• Food services experience may be seen as an asset, but is not required.
• Proficient in MS office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint are essential).
• Strong strategic and creative thinking skills – and a flair for doing things differently.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply them in both financial and Marketing contexts. Strong verbal and written communication and demonstrated presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational, time and project management skills, with and ability to multi-task several priorities.
• Flexibility, high-energy level, drive for results attitude.
• Experience with developing and executing marketing promotions and in-store merchandising POP.
• Experience in the social media and digital experience space – and a curiosity for the same.
