I am working with a successful, scaling recruitment agency who work within the energy sector globally. Due to the organic growth seen over the past few years, they are now seeking a Financial Controller to join the team.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
This is a completely hands-on role and has exciting scope for career progression as the business grows. It requires an ambitious and progressive individual who can ensure that the finance team (including the staff with an Indian based outsourced partner) is correctly set-up and is operating effectively and efficiently for the current business size, including being fit for future growth. The role will manage the execution of tax and compliance issues in multiple international jurisdictions including Germany, Holland, Singapore, India, Bolivia, USA and other.
You will work closely with the executive board to execute the business plan with a view to... progressing to a more senior role and helping to also shape the strategic direction of the business.
Job Description
Although a broad role some basic duties include:
• Assess the current Finance team structure and assemble it to best serve the business
• Manage day to day finance departmental operations, including:
• pay and bill,
• credit control,
• accounts payable and treasury
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts, KPI reporting, analytics with commentary to the Board
• Prepare balance sheet recs on a timely manner
• Prepare budgeting and forecasting
• Daily cash management, periodic cash flow modelling with focused working capital management
• Work with external accountants in global locations to ensure international compliance
• Implementing, reviewing and improving processes and policies to ensure business efficiency
• Relationship building, co-ordination and effective working with the front office team
• Managing /building client relationships
• Review of financial systems and suggesting improvements where needed
• Implementing a new pay & bill system
• Coordination with the external accountants for annual statutory accounts
• Lead the process for Corporation tax, PAYE, VAT returns
• Lead internal staff payroll and pension
• Assist with building new global contractor payroll solutions
• Researching ability to assess international regulations around temporary recruitment
• Manage all FX requirements and risk
• Being a point of call for escalation of queries
The Successful Applicant
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Experienced Finance Manager/ Financial Controller with few years' experiences within recruitment sector is a must, preferably with international pay and bill knowledge
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
• Good at people development and management
• Able to influence at all levels and manage multiple demanding stakeholders
• Good IT/Excel skills and communication skills
• Champion of change, confident, energetic and a driven self-starter
• Hardworking persona taking pride in their own achievements
