We are pleased to be advertising for a Band 7 Clinical / Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to be part of the newly established and integrated Primary Care Network (PCN) Mental Health provision in Newham. As part of this network of professionals, you will work alongside colleagues from primary care, mental health services and the voluntary sector to provide personalised and holistic mental health care. You will play a key role as part of an exciting, wider three-year movement of East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT), primary care, local authority and voluntary sector partners working across Newham to transform, expand and radically improve community-based mental health services drawing on major new investment in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
Proactive in your approach to collaborative working you will be based with Newham Central PCN, and work across four GP practices, to offer psychological assessments and 1-3 session consultation to service users of the PCN at the... point of first presentation. This role (which is jointly funded by Newham Central PCN and ELFT) will become embedded in this new team structure, and be a valuable resource to patients and practice staff, focused on improving the experience of mental health service provision.
The post holder will work closely with an established psychology provision within our Community Integrated Mental Health Service (CIMHS) which includes senior psychologists, psychotherapists and 10 Clinical Associate Psychologists, who have been developing an innovative psychology provision to bridge the gap between primary and secondary care specialist services. The post will also be well linked with the Specialist Psychotherapy Service (SPS) and receive specialist supervision and CPD opportunities, as appropriate. In addition, regular opportunity is provided to meet with other ARRS practitioners in other Newham based PCN and across the trust for peer support and learning in what is an interesting and innovative area of service improvement.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
