The Role

We are seeking a Lead Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our Torringtons Orthopaedic referral hospital in Brighouse with experience of fracture management, joint surgery, arthrodesis, and arthroscopy. Experience in spinal surgery would be beneficial but not essential.

Torrington Orthopaedics is a purpose-built practice situated in Brighouse, West Yorkshire that specialises in Orthopaedic and Spinal conditions and has been established in the local area for over 21 years.

Torrington has spacious consult rooms, 2 separate wards, digital X-Ray facilities with an on-site CT Scanner, 3 large theatres, and a visiting MRI Scanner.

The role would suit someone that shares the centre’s values of being trustworthy, caring, and progressive. They will possess all the softer skills essential to working effectively whilst building trusting relationships with colleagues, harnessing a one-team culture.

The ideal candidate will display good communication skills and have the desire to share... knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

As a qualified MRCVS, the right person for this role will already have good experience gained in small animal practice. Be competent in clinical examination, diagnostic imaging and orthopaedic surgery. Some sole charge will also be required.

Along with managing surgical cases and working within the team, the candidate will also be encouraged to deliver CPD on behalf of Torrington Orthopaedics at our meetings at least once per year and to collaborate in the development of new protocols for clinical research. This will also involve publishing data in peer-reviewed journals along with writing articles for non-peer-reviewed journals.
