MAS Europe covers investments in manufacturing, agribusiness, and services sectors in emerging European countries, accounting for up to 80% of overall economic activity. We seek an Associate Investment Officer to join our team in Belgrade, Serbia, to evaluate investment opportunities, conduct financial analysis, and contribute to portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a deep understanding of relevant sectors and build strong relationships with key counterparts in the private and public sectors.
Identify potential investment partners and opportunities based on industry experience, reputation, market potential, financial capability, and strategic fit.
Assess investment opportunities, focusing on credit quality and development impact, and make recommendations to IFC management.
Execute loan, equity, and mezzanine financing, including processing mandates, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, negotiating terms, and portfolio management across MAS sectors.
Support sector strategy development and implementation, working closely with departments and specialists to manage project risks.
Provide high-quality client service throughout the project cycle, from transaction sourcing and processing to supervision.
Supervise and ensure the quality of portfolio reporting information prepared by junior staff, providing industry, sector, and country perspectives into project risks and issues.
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in investment transactions, with a proven track record in developing client relationships, sourcing, negotiating, structuring, and closing quality investments, and managing complex portfolio assets.
Experience in emerging markets and knowledge of international best practices and global trends in the industry.
Proven analytical, financial analysis, equity valuation, and financial modeling skills to analyze and form conclusions on company financial information or projects.
Ability to oversee and provide quality control feedback on financial models prepared by analysts.
Strong client relationship skills, with a track record of ability to focus on client needs effectively.
