Seasonal Park Ranger – Watford
Rate: £14 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week (rotating shifts)
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about the outdoors and making a positive difference in your local community? We are currently seeking dedicated and proactive individuals to join a dynamic Ranger Service in Watford this summer.
About the Role:
As a Seasonal Park Ranger, you will play a key part in maintaining a welcoming, safe, and clean environment across Watford’s parks and open spaces. This is a highly visible, public-facing role where no two days are the same — from patrolling green spaces and engaging with the public, to responding to incidents and supporting community events. Applicants must have a UK Driving licence
Key Responsibilities:

Patrolling parks, play areas, allotments, cemeteries, and open spaces
*
Providing a visible presence and engaging positively with park users
*
Deterring and addressing anti-social behaviour
*
Responding to reports of vandalism, rough sleeping, littering, and dog fouling
*
Locking/unlocking park facilities and key holding duties
*
Supporting public events, youth engagement activities, and community initiatives
*
Liaising with partner agencies including the police and community groups
*
Reporting issues such as fly-tipping, graffiti, and damaged equipment
*
Conducting safety checks and carrying out minor repairs and maintenance
Shift Pattern:

11:30 AM – 8:00 PM daily (includes one 30-minute unpaid break)
*
Includes weekdays and weekends on a rotating basis
*
Flexibility is essential to support cover during staff absences

Ability to stay calm and act professionally in challenging situations

Experience in a customer-facing, community, enforcement, or outdoor role is desirable
*
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
*
Full UK Driving licence
