If you enjoy working outside, then consider working for Scholten Farms. Scholten Farms is a family orientated growing feedlot in Southern Alberta. An expansion now complete we are seeking a self starting, positive individual who wants to be able to work in all areas of a feedlot.
Job duties include:
- Check the well being of cattle, able to pick out ill or injured animals.
- Treating the animals, processing, sorting, implanting, receiving and shipping of cattle.
- Working with the veterinarian on cattle health and treatment.
- Feedlot maintenance (fences, water troughs, etc.)
- Bedding/pen maintenance
- May be some feeding of the cattle in all aspects
- Servicing equipment
- Silage pit maintenance
- Wintertime may include snow removal.
- Operation of equipment, ie. Loader, tractor, farm truck, etc.
- Yard maintenance, feedlot yard, shop, etc.
Qualifications:
- Great communication skills, verbal, emails, texting and in-person.
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic math skills
- Ability to life 50lbs/25 kg
- Microsoft office, SSG Fusion an asset (training will be provided).
- Positive attitude
Experience:
- Previous experience in working with cattle and equipment an asset.
