Energy Advisor

* Salary: £23,419, increasing to £24,003 upon successful completion of qualification and probation.

* Hours: Full time

* Hybrid / Edinburgh - Blended or fully office based (from our office in Edinburgh)

As an energy advisor, you will play a crucial role in helping people across Scotland reduce their energy costs and make their homes warmer and more comfortable.

The team

Our consumer advice team is at the heart of Energy Saving Trust’s mission, providing expert, impartial advice to help households across Scotland make their homes more energy efficient, reduce fuel bills, and cut carbon emissions. We are a versatile and supportive team committed to delivering world-class customer service and making a real impact in the journey towards net zero.

The role

By providing tailored, high-quality energy advice via telephone, email, and digital channels, you will empower customers to take meaningful action on energy efficiency, low carbon technologies, and sustainable energy solutions.

Success in this role means delivering exceptional customer service, applying expert knowledge to individual circumstances, and ensuring our customers receive the support they need to make informed energy choices.

We prioritise upskilling our team and will begin expanding your knowledge of our services and energy efficiency immediately. Our SQA-accredited Home Energy Scotland advisor induction includes the City & Guilds Energy Awareness in the Home qualification. You'll receive ongoing mentoring, coaching, and development throughout your training.

The LEZ exemption phone line will be open 9am –8:30pm. Your primary hours will be 9am –5:30pm but to ensure complete coverage for this service between 9am-8.30pm the extended hours team will cover 5pm- 8:30pm.

What you’ll do

* Provide advice over many different aspects of loans, grants, and schemes within Scotland.

* Providing world class customer service via email and Inbound/outbound calls in the evenings.

* Cover a wide range of knowledge and support to all areas in Scotland.

What you’ll bring

* A proven track record of delivering excellent customer service in an advice setting.

* The ability to learn and apply new knowledge quickly.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including ability to communicate technical subject matter clearly and effectively with vulnerable customers.

* Ability to record data accurately while speaking to a customer.
