Contain Enviro Services Ltd. is seeking an Accounting Technician to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB.
Contain Enviro Services is a privately-owned business founded in 1997 and specializes in secondary containment and primary containment. We are a fully-equipped distribution center with a prefabrication shop and experienced installation crews. The Opportunity
The Accounting Technician is primarily responsible for various transaction processing and accounting tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes at the corporate level.
Operations
Process invoices, assigning correct general ledger codes, and allocating expenses, ensuring attention to detail.
Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring coding accuracy.
Ensure timely and accurate posting of billings and cash receipts, with follow-up on overdue payments.
Conduct monthly bank account reconciliations, addressing discrepancies as needed.
Facilitate corporate expense chargebacks, compiling invoices with necessary support.
Execute various journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, chargebacks, and intercompany transactions.
Assist in drafting financial statements for review, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
Provide coverage during absences to maintain operations.
Undertake additional tasks as directed.
Qualifications
Education – Completion of an accounting diploma preferred.
Experience – Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting.
Relationship Skills – Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with team members and clients. Self-motivated, professional, and flexible mature team player. Functions fluently in English, both oral and written communication. Exercises confidentiality.
Organizational/Multi-Task Skills – Demonstrates exceptional time management, attention to detail and prioritization skills; ability to achieve quality results ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities and adapt to new ideas and constant changes. Committed to personal growth and integrity aligned with company objectives.
Computer Skills – Proficient in a variety of computer software packages including Microsoft Office and accounting programs, with preference given to Sage.
