The organisation has recently invested heavily in value added service technology effectively increasing production capacity fourfold and leading to an unprecedented period of expansion within the organisation.
The Area Sales Manager position is responsible for managing the sales and marketing efforts for their defined territory.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
• Utilize frequent phone contact and face-to-face contact in a consultative sales approach to ensure the satisfaction of customer needs.
• Maintain a good knowledge of company products and prices and their application to current and potential customers to maximize sales and gross margin potential within the assigned territory.
• Develop new accounts and maintenance of strong working relationships with established loyal customers is a critical role of this position.
• Develop annual forecasts and implementation of plans and strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets is a critical aspect of the position.
Qualification
• Experience working in the Steel industry
• Related work experience in a sales/customer service position, preferably in a flat rolled service centre environment
• Sheet/Coil product knowledge, general business acumen and customer service aptitude desired
• High energy and drive, strong business and data analysis skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• The ability to negotiate electively, educate customers about products and services and close sales
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, strong administrative support
