Position overview
Responsible for achievement of catering revenue and sales pertaining to the hotel's other revenue earning services and facilities as well as to maximize guest experience. Take full responsibility to manage, coordinate and be accountable for planning, implementation, and executing the event until departure, including the final settlement of account for all conventions, meetings and incentives with less than 10 accommodation rooms per night. Act as the point of contact for customers related to corporate sales, DMCs, PCOs, organizers with a strong focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable the hotel to achieve its sales objectives. This includes all aspects of both the client's and hotel's needs and requires periodic follow up, including information dissemination, and working within established Capella Policy and Procedure. Also achieve personal sales goals and is involved in the planning of sales goals. This role is an integral part of the hotel's positioning in the luxury sector and will be essential in proactively targeting high-profile clientele. This role requires the successful candidate to work hours to suit the business
The Role
Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive catering revenue, meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and networking.
Conduct thorough client consultations to understand their catering needs, preferences, and expectations.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through personalized and attentive service.
Create customized and detailed catering proposals that showcase the hotel's facilities, services, and culinary offerings.
Collaborate with the culinary and events teams to tailor proposals to meet client specifications.
Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and services with clients, ensuring profitability and adherence to hotel policies.
Prepare and manage contracts, addressing any special requests or considerations outlined by clients.
Oversee the planning and coordination of catering events, working closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
Collaborate with the culinary team to create personalized menus and enhance the overall guest experience.
Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the planning process, providing updates and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
Ensure a high level of client satisfaction by exceeding expectations at every stage of the catering process.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional materials and strategies for catering services.
Participate in industry events, networking activities, and promotional initiatives to enhance the hotel's catering visibility.
Develop and manage catering budgets, ensuring profitability while delivering exceptional service and quality.
Monitor expenses, negotiate contracts, and implement cost-control measures.
Uphold the hotel's standards of service quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction in catering operations.
Conduct regular reviews and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Stay informed about catering and event industry trends, competitor offerings, and luxury market preferences.
Implement innovative ideas to enhance the hotel's positioning as a premier catering venue.
Talent Profile
Qualification
o Diploma of college or university preferably in Hotel/Hospitality Management
Work Experience
o 2 years' experience in similar role in luxury hotels/resorts
Technical Skills
o Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, good at cultivating strong guest relations
o Very good command in spoken and written English
o Knowledge in Property Management System (e.g. OPERA)
o Competent computing skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
