Location: Hutt Hospital
Contract: Permanent, Full Time - Rostered and Rotating including weekends, night shift and on-call.
Salary: $77,087 - $107,600

About the Role
Anaesthetic Technicians/Assistants with New Zealand Medical Sciences Council registration including a current Annual Practicing Certificates or equivalent assist in the provision of team focused perioperative care for patients undergoing surgery. Anaesthetic Technicians/Assistants are responsible for assisting the anaesthetist in preparation, planning and implementation of anaesthesia.
About the Team/Service/Location
Hutt Hospital has an eight theatre Operating Suite also providing support to several remote areas including ED, Radiology, MRI, CT and Endoscopy/Fluoroscopy and mental health. The hospital is the main centre for five tertiary regional and sub-regional services, which include Plastics, Maxillofacial and Burns Services including multi-disciplinary teams along with services for Obstetrics and Gynaecological, ENT, General, Orthopaedics and Dental Services. This is a fast-paced, quality driven, patient focused environment, with a dynamic team.
About you
The successful candidate:
Demonstrates a sound knowledge of perioperative and anaesthesia practice.
Is able to competently assist the anaesthetist during the intraoperative period.
Is competent in airway management.
Has an awareness of aseptic technique and is able to assist the anaesthetist with invasive procedures (including arterial lines central lines, and regional anaesthesia).
Is able to recognise emerging complications of anaesthesia and surgery and is able to respond appropriately.
