Hillsco Contracting Group is a demolition, excavation, and water & sewer company located in Oakville, Ontario. Seeking experienced operators & skilled labourers to join our team. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience and be prepared to work over 44 hours a week when required. Wages are based on years of experience and skill sets. DZ Dump Truck Driver/Operator
-responsibilities include driving/operating a truck equipped with dump body to transport & dump materials such as debris from home/building demolition, dirt/sand, gravel, crushed rock, paving materials, etc., cleaning + maintaining/servicing truck, maintaining driver log according to regulations, perform pre and post trip inspections, inspecting truck equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, etc., must be able to identify material to ensure correct product is being hauled/disposed of
Candidates must have clean driving record (abstract will be requested), must be in compliance with safety and security procedures at all times and must understand all safety regulations
Pipe Layer
-responsibilities include (but are not limited to) measuring and configuring pipe routes, gathering materials and installation tools, digging trenches using hand and machine trenching tools, locating installed piping systems using magnetic or radio indicators, removing old or broken piping systems, laying pipes into trenches and applying pipe spacers, checking pipe alignment and sealing pipes with cement glue, filling and sealing pipe trenches
-requirements: high school diploma or GED, proven work experience in the construction field, detailed knowledge of construction and pipe fitting, knowledge of sewer systems, storm drain, and water mains, experience operating heavy machine equipment, experience with machine operated trenching tools, ability to read and interpret blueprints and city maps, ability to lift heavy objects, good communication skills, ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions and ability to work overtime/weekends on occasion
Skilled General Laborer:
responsibilities include (but are not limited to): able to operate hand &/or power tools, able to assist heavy machine operators with bulldozers, skid steers, excavators, front-end loaders, and/or other equipment, assist with the removal of debris, rubble, & hazardous materials from job sites, operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of property, inform + advise management or repairmen for major repairs, drive & control equipment, perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, etc., respond to signals and direction by management staff, subcontractors and work in coordination, work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work site or traffic laws, must be able to stand for extended periods of time, must have good physical stamina, must be able to work outside in harsh weather conditions, must be able to work overtime/weekends on occasion
