The Glasgow Raptors RFC is an LGBT+ inclusive rugby union club based in Glasgow, affiliated with the Scottish Rugby Union and International Gay Rugby (IGR). We provide a supportive environment for individuals interested in rugby, irrespective of sexual orientation. Competing in the IGR UK Northern League, we participate in tournaments across the UK and internationally, training at the Clydebank Community Sports Hub alongside Clydebank RFC.
Our club fosters a sense of community through various activities, including fundraising for LGBT Youth Scotland, post-match socials, and participation in Glasgow Pride Marches. We actively engage with the LGBT+ scene in Glasgow, striving to support and advocate for equality and inclusivity.
Role Description
We’re looking for a Touch Rugby Performance Coach to join our newly formed Raptors Touch Team. We’re hoping to find someone who’s passionate about Touch Rugby and can help us develop our team.
The Glasgow Raptors men’s Union team plays in the local league and wants to expand our Touch team into something similar. We’re an inclusive Rugby club, and we welcome players from all backgrounds and orientations.
You’ll be based in the Glasgow area and will be training out of the Clydebank sports hub or Glasgow Green. You’ll be responsible for improving participation and performance in Touch Rugby at the Glasgow Raptors.
Your main responsibilities will be to plan, develop, and deliver safe, effective, and appropriate coaching sessions to help our players improve their skills and performance. You’ll also need to take into account the diverse range of ages and abilities of our players.
This is a part-time role, with a couple of hours per week to be agreed between October and June. You’ll also be expected to attend key Raptors events, including our Raptors touch bootcamp, which usually takes place in January or February and for 6-8 weeks, one day a week, usually on a Saturday morning in Glasgow Green.

• Prior experience in coaching or playing rugby
