Description

Job Goal: The person in this position will possess an understanding of evidence-based behavior approaches, instructional strategies, and standards for staff training. This person collaborates with school teams and parents to evaluate student progress, determines best interventions to increase student outcomes, monitors progress of these outcomes, provides regular feedback to the team, and assists in successful implementation of evidence-based practices. This person also provides support and training of staff on implementation of positive behavior supports, and analyzes data on the success of school wide initiatives to support all students within the behavior tiered support system.

Responsibilities
• Ensure the delivery of direct and/or consultation of behavioral services for general education and special education students.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and report to the team within the specified time frame.
• Develop behavior intervention plans and assist in creating necessary materials to promote student and staff success in implementation of the plan.
• Analyze behavioral data and school metrics (office referrals, tardies, suspensions, etc.) for the purpose of progress monitoring.
• Consult with school teams on implementation of the behavior tiered support system.
• Conduct classroom observations and follow-up consultations with school teams.
• Model intervention strategies and provide timely feedback to staff.
• Provide training to staff in topics including but not limited to: proactive behavior supports, evidence based behavioral interventions, effective use of reinforcement, and collecting and interpreting behavioral data.
• Provide training to staff in the practices of nonviolent crisis intervention.
• Assist in creating visual or instructional supports for students and classroom teachers.
• Participate as a member of the IEP team.
• Engage in appropriate contact with parents regarding behavior concerns.
• Provides help on how to integrate the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) across the instructional day for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and students with other challenging behaviors.
