Job Title: Optometrist Medical Specialist - Largo
Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year.
About the Role:
This position involves examining patients with various visual problems, diagnosing diseases and prescribing treatment as licensed. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical skills and be able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Examine patients using advanced optometry instruments and techniques.
• Diagnose visual diseases and prescribe treatment according to state laws.
• Prescribe contact lenses and low-vision aids.
• Collaborate with internal medicine and ophthalmology teams for patient care issues.
Requirements:
• Education:
• Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry.
• Enrollment in PECOS within 90 days of hire date.
• License and Certification:
• Optometrist License (Maryland) OR Optometrist License (Virginia) OR Optometrist License (District of Columbia).
• Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association.
Travel Requirement: Yes, up to 50% of the time.
