SUMMARY OF POSITION

:

Under the general direction of the Mayor or designee, provides leadership, direction and general supervisory oversight to the Department of Permitting and Land Use, comprised of the Building Inspection, Planning and Zoning and Inland Wetlands divisions. This role ensures the efficient guidance of applicants through the permitting process, resolves compliance issues, and enforces relevant codes and regulations. The Director aims to streamline operations, integrate technological improvements, and foster a collaborative and compliant environment. Work involves significant community engagement and public involvement with elected officials, other policy makers and residents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, City Planning, Urban Planning, Public Administration or a related field; and

Seven (7) years of senior-level management experience, preferably in a government setting, two (2) of which are in a supervisory capacity; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
