Job Summary:
In the absence of the General Manager and Assistant Managers, you are chiefly responsible for store operations. The Floor Supervisor also plays a key part in leading and coordinating the team towards meeting company goals and objectives.
Roles and Duties:
• Highlight the strengths of Westlake Ace Hardware.
• - Take proactive steps in helping customers solve their issues.
• Greet and acknowledge patrons upon their arrival and as they move around the store. Show appreciation to customers as they conclude their visit and as they exit the establishment.
• Project an enthusiastic and sociable image, working harmoniously with customers and associates.
• Provide timely, polite, and efficient responses to all incoming calls and pages.
• Work towards resolving customer complaints in a way that upholds Westlake’s best interest and maintains customer satisfaction.
• Express a solid comprehension of product details and awareness of the store’s setup and product positioning.
• Cultivate a safe, professional, and positive work environment for associates.
• Direct the management of all store activities.
• Assigned the duty of both initiating and completing the store’s operational hours.
• Support in the implementation of Store Support Center initiatives.
• Support the implementation of strategies to ensure Loss Prevention, Safety, and Internal Audits are successful.
• Collaborate with the General Manager, Assistant Manager-Operations, and Assistant Manager-Merchandising to oversee all store operations effectively.
• Ensure that any operational or managerial challenges are communicated promptly to the General Manager.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and order of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor merchandise zones.
• Assist in ensuring that the weekly updates to prices and labels are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in executing cashiering functions, such as training sessions, maintenance work, audits, and report generation.
• Comply with all other responsibilities as directed.
• Contribute to the safe and efficient completion of forklift operations and receiving duties.
• Assist with the complete management of receiving, inspecting, and stocking merchandise for the store.
• Assist in monitoring and managing stock reserves.
• Support the timely and accurate execution of inventory checks and the reporting of insufficient stock levels.
• Provide support in the rearrangement of products and merchandise resets.
• Support in confirming that all store signage is up to date.
• Ensure the sales floor is arranged neatly and methodically, including end caps and promotional merchandise for added sales opportunities.
• Assume responsibility for all store operations in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Managers in charge of Operations and Merchandising.
• Be a guiding presence by making yourself approachable to everyone in the workplace.
• Provide assistance in the coaching of all employees.
• Engage in the store’s regular meetings.
• Share with the General Manager any marketing, budget management, or business enhancement proposal for consideration.
• Collaborate with the General Manager, Assistant Manager-Operations, and Assistant Manager-Merchandising to get ready for progression.

Qualifications:
• Acquiring a GED or finishing high school to fulfill the educational prerequisite.
• It is preferred that candidates have previous retail management experience. Familiarity with hardware products is advantageous.
• Maintaining an upright position, walking, lifting items (up to 25lbs), and climbing.
