General Description:
The Heavy Duty Cleaner is responsible for carpet shampooing, deep scrubbing hard surface floors, strip/scrub & recoat wax floors & other tasks as assigned.
This position(s) are mainly based out of St John’s NL, but travel throughout region maybe required for other sites. Company Vehicle is provided to do work.
Hours/Shift: Monday-Friday, mainly evening, some weekends
Location: St. John's, NL
Pay: $18 to $21 an hour
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that safety is made a priority, abiding by all electrical and Health and Safety regulations.
• General maintenance & cleaning of floor equipment. Notify supervisor of any defects or repairs needed. Complete equipment logs daily.
• Follow schedules as prepared by the supervisor for tasks to be completed.
• Carpet shampoo, carpet spotting & hot water extraction
• Machine scrubbing of hard surface flooring.
• Strip & refinish waxed flooring.
• Scrub & recoat waxed flooring.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Ability to work flexible hours when required.
Requirements: Prior cleaning experience
• 1+ years of experience.
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Maintains a high level of accountability.
• Sound thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
A clear criminal background is a job requirement.
Will need to get a Federal and RCMP security clearance. Requirements for this include being in Canada for 10 years.
