POSITION OPENING: K-12 Career Readiness Supervisor
IN THIS ROLE:
Lead the charge in shaping Oakland County’s future by driving career readiness initiatives that empower students for success!
You’ll have the opportunity to inspire and guide a talented team to create and deliver innovative programs that prepare students across K-12 for the workforce. Oversee the development and implementation of services that ensure every school and district is equipped to support students’ career aspirations, fostering a generation of skilled, confident, and career-ready leaders.

WHAT WE NEED:
• Supervise daily operation of assigned staff, including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and disciplining as needed.
• Lead the K-12 Career Readiness unit, facilitating staff meetings, communications, and project assignments while driving process improvements.
• Provide in-district consultation and professional learning to support district career readiness initiatives.
• Respond to communications from district administrators and staff in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to create the department's annual service plan and budget.
• Design and coordinate professional development for educators, students, and parents focused on career readiness.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional teams, contributing to the development and execution of strategic plans and projects.
• Ensure compliance with Oakland Schools’ policies, practices, and procedures to meet department goals.
• Oversee grant development and monitor funding for the unit.
• Manage unit budgets, approving expenditures, travel, and leave requests.
• Work with Project Assistants to streamline processes and resolve issues.
• Build partnerships with external organizations and agencies to enhance career readiness efforts.
• Provide leadership on local, state, and national committees and organizations.
• Stay informed on industry trends, research, and legislative changes, recommending program adjustments as needed.
• Take on additional duties as assigned to support department objectives.
WHAT YOU NEED:
• Master’s degree in education.
• Professional preparation in Leadership
• Five or more years of related experience
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience
• Valid Michigan Administrator Certificate or the ability to obtain Administrator Certification in compliance with legislative regulations.
SALARY DETAILS:
$106,413 - $123,406 annually based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to $132,896 after employment with Oakland Schools.
Exempt position / 12-month work year.
