About the Role
As a Nursing Instructor, you will be responsible for providing classroom teaching and clinical instruction in various practice settings. Your expertise and experience will help students develop essential skills and knowledge to succeed in their careers.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and support students in classroom settings and practice environments, including acute, community, and long-term care settings.
• Provide ongoing written and verbal feedback to students to enhance their learning experience.
• Foster partnerships with practice partners to ensure common understanding of learning outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with practice partners to ensure seamless collaboration.
• Deliver face-to-face instruction and seminars, and be available for student consultation.
• Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in instructional team meetings to share best practices and ideas.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• A learner-centered philosophy of teaching, learning, and evaluation.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
• Three – five years of recent and relevant experience with simulation.
• A commitment to actively participate in the delivery of a dynamic, caring, and interactive curriculum.
Education and Experience
For this position, we require:
• A Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field.
• An undergraduate (BSN) degree in Nursing may be considered.
• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary setting is an asset.
Salary and Benefits
This is a short-term, part-time position with a range of 68-87% FTE, commencing August 1, 2024, and ending July 31, 2025. The salary range is $2,709.12 - $4,341.23 bi-weekly (at 100% appointment), based on qualifications and experience.
