Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at the Capitol Hill Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet patients, explain ultrasound procedures, and address their questions and concerns.
• Select the appropriate equipment and probes to obtain diagnostic information as requested by referring physicians.
• Apply gel to patients' skin, apply probes, and monitor equipment to obtain high-quality ultrasound images.
• Process film and review images to ensure they meet radiologists' requirements.
• Prepare initial diagnoses by identifying abnormal conditions for review by radiologists.
• Use ultrasound equipment to assist providers in conducting invasive procedures.
• Maintain equipment and examination rooms, store film, and manage related supplies.
• Prepare patient information files with identification details, exam dates, referring physicians, and performed exams.
• Submit reports showing the number and type of examinations conducted.
Requirements:
• A minimum of one year of full-time experience as a sonographer is required. (Current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived per the National Agreement.)
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an ARDMS-accredited or equivalent program in ultrasound technology is mandatory.
• Registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with a certificate in Ob-Gyn or Abdomen is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is necessary.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $83,000-$105,000, depending on location and qualifications. Kaiser Permanente offers competitive benefits packages, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Work Environment:

This role requires working on-call shifts, with approximately 10% of the time spent traveling. The primary work location is the District of Columbia, Washington, Capitol Hill Medical Center.
