Job Description
The Fairfax County Government is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter II to join our team. This position requires a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in the carpentry trade, with a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an apprentice-level training program.
The Carpenter II will assist the Carpenter I with various tasks, including installing/repairing walls, doors, suspended ceilings, steps, thresholds, handrails, countertops, stall partitions, and more. Additionally, they will repair or replace doors and associated hardware, inspect/install fire extinguishers, and perform preventive maintenance on interior and exterior doors, fire doors, roof drains, gutters, and downspouts.
This role also involves supervising and training the Carpenter I, maintaining inventory of materials and equipment in the vehicle, and preparing activity reports. The ideal candidate should possess thorough knowledge of applicable state and national codes, safety regulations, and common hazards associated with carpentry.
The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
