Estimated Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year
About the Role
This is a temporary opportunity until May 30, 2025. This position may be extended or become permanent. As the leader of the Research and Innovation team, you will guide research in staff health, social sciences, fire science, and innovation, overseeing projects that advance wildfire management.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee research projects to improve staff safety and contribute to technologies that benefit communities across British Columbia
• Develop and implement the Research and Innovation roadmap
• Collaborate with academia and drive innovation across the organization
Qualifications and Skills
• Degree in forestry, forest science, fire ecology, or natural resource management, or a related discipline, and 7 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated experience in research and financial/economic analysis
About this Opportunity
This position can be based in any BC Wildfire Service office. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
