Post: Teacher required with effect from April 2025
Salary: Teacher – Main Scale + 1 SEN point
Contract: Permanent and full time
The Headteacher and Governors of Valley School wish to appoint a dynamic and creative teacher with the desire and flair to work in this very specialised area of education working alongside our skilled and supportive multi-disciplinary team.
We would consider offering:
• 2 SEN points for a suitably qualified and highly competent candidate who has worked in comparative settings.
• UPS for an exceptional candidate with evidence of significant impact at upper pay scale.
The post
We are looking to recruit a permanent teacher, who in the first instance, will work with a small group of children with complex learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge. Many will have a diagnosis of autism.
Applications are welcomed from colleagues in special and mainstream schools who have experience of working with pupils with complex needs. We offer an excellent induction programme and are committed to continuing professional development.
About the school
Valley School caters for primary aged pupils with very complex learning difficulties. In addition, many pupils have physical disabilities and/or complex health needs. The school has a specialist nursery provision and an on-site NHS nurse.
The appointed candidate will join a very successful school with an inclusive ethos, a family-centred approach and a strong commitment to ongoing improvement. We are an outstanding school with high expectations of teaching and learning from 9.00 - 3.30.
The post may be suitable for ECTs with a significant level of experience of working with pupils with SEND comparative to those that attend Valley.
Our turnover of teachers is very low. This post has become available following the promotion of one of our colleagues to a leadership position.
You are encouraged to contact the school by telephone for further information.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to visit the school prior to interview.
