Dollar General is hiring for Stocking & Unloading
The Stocking & Unloading Associate is responsible for efficiently handling merchandise in the store, focusing on stocking shelves and unloading deliveries to ensure that the store remains well-organized and stocked with products. This role plays a key part in maintaining the store’s inventory and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
• Unload Merchandise: Unload trucks and merchandise from delivery vehicles. Ensure all items are accounted for and properly handled during the unloading process.
• Stock Shelves: Stock and restock shelves, displays, and other merchandise areas as needed. Ensure products are correctly placed and presented according to store guidelines.
• Organize Merchandise: Organize and arrange merchandise on shelves and in storage areas. Implement planograms and merchandising standards to maintain a neat and visually appealing store layout.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control processes, including tracking inventory levels, managing product rotation, and conducting stock checks.
• Maintain Store Appearance: Keep the store clean and organized by performing tasks such as dusting shelves, cleaning up spills, and disposing of trash. Ensure a safe and pleasant shopping environment.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries and locating merchandise as needed.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills:
• Basic understanding of inventory processes and merchandising standards.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and pushing merchandise.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience and Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a retail or stocking environment is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 55 pounds.
• Fast-paced work environment with moderate noise levels.
• Exposure to varying temperatures depending on weather conditions and store environment.
