Overview:
EAST Hockey is seeking a Strength and Conditioning Intern to assist with the 2025 summer training sessions for professional and youth athletes (NHL to 2012 birth year). This role offers hands-on experience programming and running off-ice training sessions in collaboration with the on-ice trainer to maximize off-season adaptations and performance. Ideal candidates should be seeking a profession in the field and be ready for a role offering responsibility and autonomy while managing the personalities of high performers.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
• Assist with the design and implementation of training programs for athletes.
• Demonstrate, observe, and provide feedback during training sessions.
• Engage with athletes to promote a training atmosphere that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
• Build and manage professional and productive relationships with athletes
• The culture of our company invites interaction beyond the few hours they spend with us each day. Check in on games, camps, and other elements of their development outside of our facility.
• Support and collaborate with lead coaches on various projects or initiatives as they may arise
• Researching new techniques/methods in the Human Performance field.
• Outreach and collaboration with local organizations to contact potential clients.
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Strength & Conditioning, or a related field.
• Strong interest in athlete development and sports performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in S&C or personal training is preferred, but not required.

Hours: Part-time/Casual, 10-20hrs/week
