The Bluewater Recycling Association, based in Huron Park near Exeter, has immediate openings for the position of Garbage/Recycling Driver.Reporting to the Fleet Manager, as a Driver you will be a key player in theoperation of one of the Association's waste and recycling vehicles.Why you should work for us!• Competitive salary ($28.50/hour to start) with yearly increases.• Healthcare benefit...s including dental, vision, disability & life insurance (A benefit equating to $2.48/hour)• OMERS pension plan (Equates to $2.30/hour)• Overtime after 8 hours per day & 40 hours per week• A generous clothing allowance• Paid day off for birthdays• Double time on weekends & holidaysMain Duties:- Operates designated vehicle on scheduled route, stopping to collect all Solid Waste and/or Recyclable Material placed out for collection using automated arm with joystick.- Delivers collected items to material recovery facility or to the sanitary landfill when truck is full and dumps compartments in designated areas.- Operates the scale and record gross, tare, and net weights upon every collection.Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have:• A clean CVOR Abstract.• At least 2 years of recent experience driving a DZ vehicle full time.• 1 year of experience operating a joystick.• Experience operating a side loader would be an asset.• An enjoyable personality with an ability to communicate with the general public.Working Hours:Monday-Friday starting @6:00am. Hours vary from 8-12 hours per day depending on routes. The successful candidate must have flexibility in their working hours as these change based on business need.Physical Demands:• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.• Ascending and descending ladders.• Repeating motions that include the hands, wrists and fingers.• Remaining in a stationary, seated position for prolonged periods.• Exposure to noisy, hot and foul-smelling environments.Bluewater Recycling Association is committed to meeting the accessibility needs of all individuals in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC).
