The Hydraulic Mechanic will put personnel and rig safety first in the pursuance of all his/her activities.
The Hydraulic Mechanic require to ensure that hydraulic/mechanical work carried out in accordance with the applicable procedure, to the specified standard and in accordance with good industry practices.
The Hydraulic Mechanic is to inform the Technical Section Leader or Subsea Supervisor of all activities relating to hydraulics and any deviation from the procedure specified for an individual job.
The Hydraulic Mechanic is to ensure that relevant requirements of the Noble Management System are used as the term of reference for activities controlled by the position.
The Hydraulic Mechanic has the authority to initiate immediate action required to prevent the occurrence of a potential non-conformance detected within his area of responsibility.
When controlling the work of others he is responsible for the safety of all personnel working under his supervision.
The Hydraulic Mechanic will help maintain all drill floor and related hydraulic equipment and systems and be fully conversant with the systems therein and must perform his duties in such a way that the safety of others is not endangered and must through instruction and experiences sharing actively contribute to improving the safety standard maintained within the working team.
The Hydraulic Mechanic will help maintain all subsea and related hydraulic equipment and systems and be fully conversant with the systems therein,
Maintain a good working environment in all working areas and ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions
Be well acquainted with the legislation in respect of the working environment and safety, and the environmental and safety policy of Noble; and ensure that this is applied in the daily work onboard. Particular attention to be paid to the Work Permit system.
The Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for controlling his inventory of consumable materials, maintain them as recommended by the manufacturer utilizing the equipment.
Responsibility
• Assist in Maintaining the drilling and subsea hydraulic equipment on board and carry out necessary maintenance work on all hydraulic equipment in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance Program, Noble Management System, OEM recommendations and any applicable regulations
• Assist with maintenance work on other drilling equipment on the Drill Floor, in the shale shaker room, in the mud processing areas, on the BOP deck and subsea working environments, and in other areas on board, as instructed by the Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Supervisor or Subsea Engineer.
• Inform the Drilling Technical Section, Subsea and/or Maintenance Engineer/Electrical Supervisor regarding irregular situations within or near his area of work
• Assist with on the job training of Floorhands and Roustabouts regarding maintenance work on hydraulic and other drilling equipment.
• Participate in the regular emergency preparedness drills, including required "Kick" drills etc.
• Perform maintenance on Subsea hydraulic systems as directed by the Subsea Engineer.
• Perform other due work which is ordered by the Subsea Engineer.

Where responsibility is allocated the matching authority is also granted, unless otherwise stated. Stop any operation when deemed unsafe to continue.
Documentation and record responsibilities
• Is responsible for the documentation and recording of jobs within duties and job areas, with areas of responsibility.
• Hand-over reports.
• Maintaining test records and logs.
• Proper execution of the Work Permit systems, SJA,s and Toolbox talks.
Qualification requirements
Experience:
• Recognized trade qualification from technical college/apprenticeship or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Completion of all training requirements for the position within designated time period.
• If working on DP Semi-submersibles, hold Flag State Maintenance Supervisor License.
• Experience in power and hydraulic systems is required.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings is required.
• Must have mechanical machinery inspection and repair knowledge.
• Complete understanding and use of the Noble Maintenance System.
• Superior troubleshooting, decision making and problem resolution skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with diverse groups and operations, and to recognize and resolve conflict.
• Strong leadership skills and an ability to coach, motivate and mentor others and develop their skills and knowledge.
• Proficient in office applications and other systems required for the position.
